Learn More About Your Honda Tire Maintenance

No matter what type of Honda car, truck, SUV, or van you're driving in New Jersey, you'll want to make sure that the tires are well taken care of and maintained. Here at Paul Miller Honda of West Caldwell, our service center is prepared to help every driver with the following tire maintenance issues.

Mount/Balance

Are you in need of new tires for your Honda vehicle? Allow us to help you find the right ones. We'll search through popular Honda tire brands, such as Michelin, Goodyear, BF Goodrich, Firestone, Toyo Tires, and more, locate the perfect new tires for your specific model, and professionally mount and balance them. We can also help you purchase the best winter tires for your snow and ice travels.

Tread Inspection

At every oil change or brake inspection, you should have a technician inspect your tires, especially the tread. Not every tire wears evenly, depending on how and where you drive, and your tread will become lower as time goes on. We'll look for your tread depth, any marks or tears on your tires wall, and the air pressure of your tires to ensure that they are working properly.

Tire Change

In New Jersey, it's best to have multiple sets of tires for your Honda vehicle. While all-season tires work to a point, winter tires are important for the ice, snow, and freezing temperatures of winter and summer tires are best for the heat and rain of summer. We can change out your tires for you as quickly as possible and will let you know if you need replacement winter or summer tires for the next season.

Frequently Asked Tire Service Questions

Have questions about your Honda tire service? Don't worry; you're not alone! Our team is always available to discuss any questions you may have, but here are a few answers to some of the most frequently asked tire service questions.

What Brand of Tires Does Honda Use?

Every Honda vehicle will have a different set of recommended tires. Some of the top tire brands that Honda prefers include Michelin®, Bridgestone, Continental, and Dunlop. We recommend contacting our Paul Miller Honda of West Caldwell service center to discuss which tires would be best for your specific Honda vehicle. Our parts center can even order them for you and have them installed.

Does Honda Care Cover Tires?

Honda Care comes in two different plans. The Honda Care Sentinel plans do cover certain tire issues. Specifically, the Honda Care Sentinel plans contain Road Hazard Tire Protection. If a road hazard damages your tire, then you may be eligible to have it replaced or repaired with some or all of the cost being covered. The Roadside Assistance part of the plan also includes tire change assistance.

How Much Does it Cost to Fix a Tire Leak?

That all depends on what type of tire leak you have. A tire plug fix is more expensive than a tire sealant fix, but the tire plug should last longer. A tire plug kit costs about $10 to $20 without the labor included. A tire sealant kit costs about $10 to $15 without the labor included. Also, if you catch the puncture right away, it will most likely cost you less, around $15 to $30. Remember, fixing a leak is only temporary.
